AC Milan agree personal terms with Higuain replacement

AC Milan have agreed personal terms with Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Serie A giants are preparing for the departure of Gonzalo Higuain and are on the market for his replacement.

Higuain’s loan spell at Milan will be cut short so he can reunite with Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea for the remainder of the season.

Milan are interested in Chelsea outcast Michy Batshuayi, whose loan spell with Valencia is also being terminated this month, but the Belgium international remains a back-up option.

Gennaro Gattuso’s side are going all out to sign Piatek from Genoa following the Poland international’s outstanding first half of the season.

Genoa only paid a reported €4m fee for the 23-year-old in the summer and now hope to command €45m for his services.

Milan have already agreed terms to a five-year deal with Piatek and are now trying to lower Genoa’s asking price.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo (14) has scored more Serie A goals than Piatek (13) this season. Piatek has also scored the most goals in Europe’s top five leagues without registering a single assist this term.
