Alexis Sanchez picks up injury scare on international duty
Arsenal’s abysmal start to the season could be about to get even worse after Alexis Sanchez picked up an ankle injury during the international break, reports Bio Bio Chile.
Sanchez was widely expected to join Manchester City over the summer and was reportedly left furious with Arsenal after his move collapsed on deadline day.
The 28-year-old made his first appearance of the season in Arsenal’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool before the international break and he is now a major doubt for Chile’s match against Bolivia on Tuesday.
Sanchez was reportedly seen leaving training with an ice pack on his left ankle and Arsene Wenger will be desperate to have his No.7 available for this weekend’s home game against Bournemouth.
Wenger’s side have lost their last two matches and have not lost three on the spin in the Premier League since January 2012.
Sanchez was the only Premier League player that registered double figures for goals (24) and assists (10) last season, finishing the campaign as the second highest WhoScored rated player (7.76).
