Ndombele considering future at Tottenham

Tanguy Ndombele is considering his future at Tottenham after playing no part in their 1-0 pre-season win over Arsenal on Sunday, reports the Athletic.

The Frenchman had trained in the days leading up to the victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium despite suggestions he was not yet fully fit.

Ndombele has not played a single minute of pre-season for Spurs, though part of that was down to a period of paternity leave following the birth of his first child.

However, his lack of involvement on Sunday against Arsenal was a surprise to fans, with Nuno Espirito Santo saying after the game: "Tanguy is not with us today. He is not injured but we consider it is not yet the moment for him to be part of the game."

The 24-year-old was not selected for France's Euro 2020 squad and after losing his spot with the national team is now weighing up his options.

Ndombele joined Spurs from Lyon for £55m in 2019, but his time in north London has been blighted by injury and inconsistency.

Further concerns over his fitness meant only Bertrand Traore and Jarrod Bown (both 24) were subbed off more times than Ndombele (22) in the Premier League last season.
