PSG lodge bid for Arsenal defender

French giants PSG have made a £25m bid, with £5m in add ons, for Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin, reports The Guardian.

The Parisian side are in the market for a new right-back following Thomas Meunier's move to Borussia Dortmund.

Thilo Kehrer deputised at right-back in PSG's Champions League run-in, but head coach Thomas Tuchel is looking to bring in another defender.

And they have now made a move for Bellerin, who has also attracted interest from Bayern Munich and Juventus.

The Spaniard is under contract until 2023, but Arsenal are prepared to entertain bids for Bellerin and make Ainsley Maitland-Niles their starting right wing-back.

Maitland-Niles was linked with a move away from the Gunners, yet has done enough to convince Mikel Arteta that he warrants a regular starting spot going forward.

25-year-old Bellerin has been a regular for the Gunners since breaking onto the scene with Arsenal in 2014.

Arteta would prefer to keep his compatriot at the Emirates Stadium, but after the big money capture of Gabriel this week, needs to generate funds as they push to land Thomas Partey.
