Pochettino makes come-and-get-me-plea to Manchester United

Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has conceded he would love to manage in the Premier League once again amid links to Manchester United.

Pochettino has been out of work since being sacked by Tottenham in November but has been heavily linked with numerous jobs across Europe since then.

Bayern Munich and Barcelona have already considered moves for the highly rated Argentine in the last few months, while United continue to be linked with the 47-year-old.

Pochettino, who watched Leeds' 1-1 draw with Brentford on Tuesday night, has revealed he would jump at the chance to return to management in England's top-flight.

"I would love to work in the Premier League," he told Sky Sports' In the Pink Podcast, via The Guardian. "It's going to be difficult I know and for now it's a moment to wait and we'll see what happens.

"It's a moment of recovery, to think about yourself a little bit, and to be ready because in football always something can happen and you need to be ready.

"I'm ready and waiting for a new challenge. I have the belief and confidence that the next challenge will be fantastic."

United are the frontrunners as Pochettino's next job despite the fact Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains in charge of the Red Devils.

Solskjaer's position has been under heavy pressure from the media this season despite the fact Ed Woodward remains content with the club's former striker.

It's unlikely Pochettino will take another job before the end of the season due to a clause in his exit from Tottenham that would see him forced to re-pay his compensation.

Pochettino failed to win a trophy during his five-year stint at Tottenham but helped transformed the club into one of the best in the country.

Tottenham's WhoScored rating of 6.69 at the time of Pochettino's departure, however, was their lowest during his reign.
