Leicester bid in excess of £30m for West Ham target Tarkowski
Leicester have leapfrogged West Ham in the race to sign Burnley centre-back James Tarkowski, claims The Daily Telegraph.
The Foxes have submitted a bid worth more than £30m for the Tarkowski and the 27-year-old is keen to make the move.
Burnley have already fended off multiple bids from West Ham for their star centre-back and are now looking from more money up front from Leicester to sanction his departure.
Having previously wanted in the region of £50m for Tarkowski, Burnley appear to have reduced their asking price as long as they secure a higher initial payment from Leicester.
Brendan Rodgers' side have switched their attention to Tarkowski after failing to prise Wesley Fofana away from Saint-Etienne, who ironically is now on West Ham's radar.

Leicester are desperate to sign a new centre-back after Rodgers confirmed Wilfred Ndidi is ruled out for three months through injury.
Ndidi acted as a stand-in centre-back in Leicester's first two league games this season but is naturally a defensive midfielder and the Foxes still haven't replaced Harry Maguire from 12 months ago.
Tarkowski finished the 2019/20 campaign in the WhoScored Team of the Season across Europe's top five leagues.
