Outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is Zenit St. Petersburg’s No.1 choice to replace Andre Villas-Boas in the summer, according to The Sun.
Pellegrini, 62, will be replaced by Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola at the end of the season and is targeting one more big job before returning to manage his native Chile.
However, while the Chilean would prefer to remain in England, it has now emerged that Zenit will make a move for his services, with Villas-Boas leaving at the end of the current campaign.
Zenit have disappointed in the Russian Premier League this season and are currently seven points adrift of league leaders CSKA Moscow in fourth place.
