Lyon consider former Arsenal boss as Genesio successor
Lyon are pondering offering the managerial position at Parc OL to former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, reports L’Equipe.
The Ligue 1 giants are considering relieving Bruno Genesio of his duties as Lyon boss with the French side struggling in France’s top tier.
A 3-2 win at Bordeaux will have bought Genesio some time, but it’s believed that club president Jean-Michel Aulas is set to change manager at the end of the season at the latest.
And Wenger is the latest manager to be linked with a move to Lyon should Genesio bite the bullet in France.
The experienced French boss is still held in high regard and has been out of work since leaving Arsenal last year.
Wenger was linked with a switch to Bayern Munich last year, and was rumoured to be succeeding Niko Kovac in January.
However, Wenger is still out of work, but would be set for a return to management with Lyon, though competition for his signature would be fierce.
Indeed, PSG are long-term admirers of the 69-year-old, while adversary Jose Mourinho has been mooted as a potential successor for Genesio at Lyon.
