Manchester United will make Harry Kane their top transfer target should Jose Mourinho be appointed as new manager, writes the Independent.
Mourinho has agreed a pre-contract to take charge of United at the end of the season according to reports on Sunday and the former Chelsea manager has earmarked Kane as a possible arrival.
The England international has enjoyed another fine season for Tottenham, netting 19 league goals, a return bettered by no player in the top flight of English football.
His performances clearly have not gone unnoticed either, with United closely monitoring the 22-year-old with a view to a summer move.
However, any deal would not come cheap for United, with Kane valued at upwards of £60m by the north London side.
Kane could break the 20-goal barrier on Sunday when Tottenham host Premier League newboys Bournemouth.

It's gonna cost a Di Maria atleast, but if you think about it. If United buy him they solved the striker problems for the next decade. (Martial, Kane, Rooney, Rashford ,Wilson)
