Crystal Palace ready to firm up interest in Liverpool striker

Reports from The Guardian claim that Crystal Palace are weighing up whether to meet Liverpool’s valuation of striker Danny Ings this summer.

The 26-year-old has endured a torrid spell since moving to Anfield due to serious injuries and despite now being fit for pre-season for the first time in a matter of years the Reds left the forward out of their tout of the United States.

Ings is working on his fitness at Liverpool’s Melwood training facility instead and the club are willing to sell the former Burnley man, who is keen to make a move to secure first team football.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson is equally keen to bring the striker to the capital, but the Eagles are considering whether or not to meet the Merseysiders’ £20m valuation of a player that has been plagued by injuries.

Despite only starting six Premier League matches in three seasons at Anfield, Palace aren’t the only side contemplating an offer for a forward that earned an England cap from Hodgson back in 2015.

Ings will hope that a move this summer could yet see his fledgling international career rekindled.
