RB Leipzig have announced the arrival of Everton winger Ademola Lookman in a deal worth £22.5m.
Lookman has put pen to paper on a 5-year deal running until the summer of 2024 and leaves Everton after just two years at the club.
Leipzig have been pursuing Lookman on a permanent basis since his impressive loan stint during the second half of the 2017/18 campaign.
The Bundesliga outfit failed had several bids rejected by Everton last summer, as the Toffees held out for as much as £30m.
Everton have now decided to cash in on Lookman after the 21-year-old failed to force his way into Marco Silva’s first-team plans last season.
Lookman is highly rated at Goodison Park but the England Under-21 international failed to rise to the challenge set by Silva.
Everton have nearly doubled their money on Lookman but there will be a hint of sadness with his departure that he failed to reach his potential at the club.
Lookman made just seven Premier League starts over three seasons with Everton and 36 league appearances in total. He played a direct hand in four goals in that time.
In fact, Lookman scored or assisted more league goals in 11 appearances during his loan stint (eight) at Leipzig than he did in his Everton career.
