Big things were expected of the young Dutchman following his switch from PSV Eindhoven to Manchester United last summer, but the winger has underwhelmed at Old Trafford.
Indeed, the 22-year-old has registered just 27 minutes of Premier League action this season, heightening speculation of a move away from the club in the New Year.
Serie A side AC Milan are now prepared to offer Memphis a way out of Old Trafford and are proposing a loan move for the youngster when the January transfer window opens.
Memphis is under contract at United until 2019.
