Manchester United value outcast defender at £25m

Manchester United value Marcos Rojo at £25m but have not had any offers for the out of favour defender, claims The Daily Record.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign a new world class centre-back but must first shift at least one of his current options.

Rojo is the most likely to leave after failing to make any impression under Solskjaer.

Rojo, who struggled to stay fit for prolonged periods last season, only made three appearances under Solskjaer and missed out on a place in Argentina’s squad at this summer’s Copa America.

The 29-year-old still has two years left to run on his current United deal, with an option to a further 12 months, and the Red Devils have slapped a £25m asking price on his head.

Rojo has shown little during his five years at United to suggest that represents good value for money and his current wages will also deter potential suitors.

With less than a month before the transfer window shuts, Solskjaer is facing a huge dilemma on his hands, especially as United want to sign another centre-back.

Failure to shift Rojo would almost certainly force Axel Tuanzebe back out on loan and Solskjaer was keen to blood the 21-year-old into his first-team plans this summer.

Rojo has only started at least 20 games in a Premier League campaign on one occasion in five years at United and that was in his debut season for the club.
