Rony Lopes insists he is happy at Monaco but would like to return to Manchester City in the future.
Lopes came through the City youth academy before leaving to join Monaco on a permanent basis in 2015.
The 22-year-old has finally established himself as a first-team regular for the Ligue 1 side this season and has revealed he would like to return to City in the future.
“I am very happy for Bernardo [Silva]. He is my friend and to see what he has been doing in recent matches with Manchester City, it is something that is very impressive,” Lopes told RMC, via Get French Football.
“I have already played over there. Of course I would like to come back but… I will concentrate on Monaco. I feel good here. I am very happy for him and I hope that he will continue to do good things over there.”
Pep Guardiola’s side are expected to strengthen their offensive options in the summer but have been heavily linked with a move for Lopes’ Monaco team-mate Thomas Lemar.
Lopes is enjoying his best campaign in front of goal, scoring nine times in 29 league appearances. In fact, only Falcao (17) has scored more league goals for Monaco than the Portugal international.
