Barcelona have entered the race to sign Schalke forward Leroy Sane, according to Kicker.
Manchester City were reportedly preparing a £40m bid for the 20-year-old at the start of the month but now may face competition from the reigning European Champions for his signature.
Sane is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the Bundesliga with bags of potential, but is yet to really show he is worth the figures being associated with his signature.
The Schalke wideman, who can play on either flank, has particularly excelled in the Europa League this season. In fact, of player’s aged 21 and under, only two have garnered a higher WhoScored rating than Sane (7.75).
