Arsenal star in line for new deal

Arsenal have made securing the long-term future of Alexis Sanchez their top priority in the summer, according to Football Insider.

Sanchez, 27, has just over two years left to run on the four-year deal he penned when he joined Arsenal from Barcelona for £32m in 2014.

The Chile international has previously been linked with a surprise move to Real Madrid and Arsenal are understandably keen to ward off interest by getting him to commit his future to the club.

Sanchez has been a revelation in the Premier League, although he is still trying to come up to match speed following a two-month injury lay-off over the festive period.

Nevertheless, the Gunners are reportedly still keen to offer the forward a five-and-a-half-year deal worth a staggering £51.5m, which roughly works out more than £200,000-a-week.

Since the start of last season, only Eden Hazard (236) and Wilfried Zaha (173) have completed more dribbles than Sanchez (169) in the Premier League.
