Mbappe throws long-term Paris Saint-Germain future into doubt

Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has put Real Madrid on red alert after revealing he doesn’t know where he will be in two years.

Mbappe, who turned 19 today, joined PSG on an initial season-long loan deal from Monaco over the summer and the Ligue 1 giants will make the stay permanent in an eye-watering transfer worth £165.7m.

The France international was widely expected to join Madrid over the summer but eventually remained in France to join PSG and link up with Brazilian superstar Neymar.

They will be the two most expensive players of all-time when PSG make Mbappe’s switch permanent, but the teenager has refused to commit his long-term future to the club.

“I had some plans for my career, but since nothing has happened as planned and I’m already doing better than I imagined a few months ago, it’s difficult to project,” he told France Football. “Where will I be in two years? Frankly, I don’t know.”

Mbappe has hit the ground running for PSG this season even if his performances haven’t always been as spectacular as they were for Monaco during the second half of last season.

The French striker has scored seven goals and provided a further seven assists in just 13 league appearances for PSG this season, while netting four times and making three assists in six Champions League outings this term.
