Bayern Munich expect Sane decision imminently

Bayern Munich are waiting for Leroy Sane to make a decision about his Manchester City future, club chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed.

The Bundesliga champions have earmarked Sane as their top transfer, as they set to work to replace Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery who both left the club this summer.

Bayern have made it clear they are keen on signing the Germany international and have received the public backing from a number of their players for the £90m-rated winger.

Sane’s future at City has been cast into doubt after dropping out of favour at the club last season, particularly in the big matches.

Sane was named the PFA Young Player of the Year after the 2017/18 campaign but Bernardo Silva has since leapfrogged him in the pecking order.

City have been locked in contract talks with Sane for the last 12 months but have failed to make a breakthrough in negotiations with his representatives.

The 23-year-old has two years remaining on his current deal and Guardiola will consider his sale if he refuses to pen new terms before the end of the transfer window.

Sane, who reports back to pre-season training this week, is due to make a decision about his future at City, according to Bayern’s chief operator Rummenigge.

“He [Sane] wanted to think about his future while on holiday,” Rummenigge told The Daily Mail. “Now we have to wait.

“The current situation with Sane is that he comes back from vacation this week. We are still looking for wingers as we lost two valuable players in Robben and Ribery.”

Sane is the only player to register double figures for both goals and assists in each of the last two Premier League campaigns.
