Chelsea manager already eyeing up Premier League striker

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to re-sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer, according to The Independent.

The Blues sold Lukaku to Everton for £28m in 2014 after failing to make any impression under Jose Mourinho, but the Belgium international has excelled away from Stamford Bridge and has been tipped for big things.

Lukaku, 22, has been heavily linked with a move away from Everton this season after expressing his desire to play in the Champions League, which Chelsea will not be able to offer next season.

Conte, who was officially appointed Guus Hiddink’s successor on Monday, still has hopes of re-signing the powerful striker with wholesale changes expected at Chelsea over the summer with the likes of Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy almost certain to leave.

Since initially being farmed out on loan from Chelsea in August 2012, only Sergio Aguero (72) has scored more goals in the Premier League than Lukaku (60).
