Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores has cast doubt over the future of defender Jose Holebas after revealing the former Roma defender needs to improve to get back in the team.
The arrival of Holebas from Roma was considered a coup for the newly promoted outfit over the summer, but the 31-year-old has lost his place in team to Ikechi Anya since the end of August.
“Holebas needs to improve,” Watford’s manager is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
“Maybe when he arrived he thought it would be easy to play for Watford but the level of the Watford team in high.”
The Greece international’s performances in Serie A last season earned him a spot in the WhoScored Team of the Season, but he has only garnered a rating of 6.91 in the Premier League thus far.
