Crystal Palace have announced defender Pape Souare was taken to hospital after being involved in a car crash on Sunday.
Souare, 26, has featured in three of Palace’s four league matches this season but missed their 2-1 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday.
The Eagles have now confirmed that Souare has sustained injuries to his thigh and jaw and will remain in hospital while he receives treatment.
In the last two Premier League seasons only Yohan Cabaye (124) has made more interceptions than Souare (94) for Palace.
