Bayern Munich technical director Michael Reschke was in attendance for both FA Cup semi-finals over the weekend to keep a close eye on Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, reports The Daily Mirror.
Sanchez will only have 12 months remaining on his current Arsenal deal at the end of the season and there has been no indication that he is ready to commit his long-term future to the club.
The 28-year-old is reportedly open to running down his contract before sealing a high profile move at the end of next season but that isn’t likely to sit well with Arsenal, who may be forced to cash in on the Chile international this summer.
As a result Bayern are ready to pounce on their No.1 summer transfer target in a bid to bolster their chances of winning the Champions League after crashing out at the quarter-final stage this season.
With Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery coming to the end of their respective careers, Bayern will need to reinforce their forward positions in the near future, particularly with question marks over the long-term futures of Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman.
Sanchez netted in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Manchester City on Sunday to help take the Gunners into the FA Cup final where they will meet Chelsea next month. In fact, no Arsenal player has scored more goals at Wembley than Sanchez in the club’s history (4).
