Chelsea have announced they have recalled Nathan Ake from his loan spell with Bournemouth to bolster their chance of winning the Premier League.
Ake joined Bournemouth on an initial season-long loan deal in the summer but has been in formidable form for the Cherries since forcing his way into the team in midway through November.
The 21-year-old has made five Premier League appearances for Chelsea in the past but he hasn’t started a league game for the Blues since 2012.
Ake, a Netherlands U21 international, has endured loan spells at Reading and Watford, where he impressed for the Hornets last season, but now he has his chance to force his way into Conte’s back three.
Only two defenders have scored more goals in the Premier League this season than Ake (3).
