Leicester winger set for Bayer Leverkusen switch

Leicester winger Demarai Gray has agreed personal terms with Bayer Leverkusen over a free switch to the Bundesliga side, reports Sky Sports.

Gray has fallen out of favour under Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers having made just one league appearance this season.

The winger's contract expires in the summer and while there had been interest from Crystal Palace and Marseille, Bayer Leverkusen look to have won the race for the former Birmingham wideman.

Gray moved to Leicester in January 2016, helping the club to their title success under Claudio Ranieri later that year.

However, the 24-year-old has failed to really push on for the Foxes and having struggled to break into the side under Rodgers, Gray is prepared to try his luck elsewhere.

Gray follows in the footsteps of a host of English talents swapping the Premier League for the Bundesliga, with Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham two high profile success stories for Borussia Dortmund.

Bayer Leverkusen will be hoping that Gray can have a similar impact when he moves to Germany.
