Manchester United under pressure to match Rashford’s stunning wage demands

Manchester United are being backed into a corner over Marcus Rashford’s wage demands and may have to pay the forward £350,000-a-week a keep him, claims The Sun.

Rashford’s current United deal is due to expire at the end of next season and the England international has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The 21-year-old has emerged as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first choice striker at Old Trafford and Rashford’s preference is to extend his stay with his boyhood club.

However, Rashford’s representatives are taking advantage of the fact so many of United’s star players are seeking exits this summer to secure the biggest contract possible for their client.

United face the prospect of losing David De Gea, Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba this summer and adding a homegrown star like Rashford to the list would be a disaster.

With that in mind, United may have no choice but to hand Rashford the same contract Wayne Rooney had before his left the club in 2017, which would pocket the youngster stunning £350,000-a-week wages.

Rashford reached double figures in a league campaign for the first time last season (10) but he will have to make vast improvements next term to justify a bumper new deal.
