Klopp identifies Coutinho replacement at Liverpool in PSG star

Liverpool are reportedly ready to bolster their attack further despite another demolition job against Watford at the weekend, with Jurgen Klopp keen to force through a move for Julian Draxler, according to The Express.

The German international has been in and out of the side at Paris Saint Germain this season, predominantly featuring in a three man midfield.

Deploying an attacking playmaker in such a role is something that the Liverpool boss has done on numerous occasions in the past, with Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho slotting into a deeper position many times.

It’s the departure of the latter that could yet see the Reds aim to replace his creative influence, as for all of the pace and power in attack it was clear at Manchester United that the team was lacking some guile in the final third.

Draxler is certainly a player capable of picking holes in opposition defences, while his ability to retain possession in advanced areas would be a real asset.

The 24-year-old boasts a remarkable 93% pass accuracy in Ligue 1 this season - the best of all midfielders in the division - and may be open to a move this summer in the search for regular first team football, having started just 16 league games thus far.
