Inter take Chelsea and Manchester United targets off the market

Inter director Piero Ausilio claims the club have now taken Antonio Candreva and Ivan Perisic off the market, dealing huge blows to Chelsea and Manchester United.

United have been heavily linked with a move for Perisic all summer but talks between the two clubs went cold after the Croatia international jetted off with the rest of his Inter team-mates for their pre-season tour of Asia.

Luciano Spalletti’s side have been adamant that Perisic would not be able to leave until his €55m valuation is met and United have been unwilling to match that fee, although they were very close before Inter’s pre-season tour started.

Inter have also been dealing with reported interest in Candreva from Chelsea. The Italy international only joined from Lazio 12 months ago and Ausilio has rubbished suggestions he can leave.

“I don’t understand where some of these stories come from,” he told Mediaset Premium, via Football Italia. “Candreva has never been on the market and we have absolutely no intention of selling him.

“The same goes for Perisic, who is an important player and we are currently discussing a new contract with him.”
