Manchester City star set for bumper new deal

Manchester City will reward Gabriel Jesus with a bumper new contract following his superb start to life in England, claims The Daily Telegraph.

Pep Guardiola’s side shelled out £27m to sign the Brazil international in the summer of 2016 and the City striker has been in immense form since making his debut at the start of the year.

Jesus still has four years remaining on his current deal but City want to reward the 20-year-old and secure his long-term future to ward off any potential admirers.

The Brazilian striker has forged a deadly partnership with Sergio Aguero and City want to increase his reported £70,000-a-week wages as recognition for an outstanding nine months at the club.

City are also looking to renew David Silva’s current deal by a further 12 months and also hand Kevin De Bruyne a new long-term contract as reward for his own fine start to the campaign.

As for Jesus, he currently has the best minutes-per-goal ratio (minimum 10 goals) in Premier League history (1 every 88.82 minutes of action).
