Arnautovic completes move away from West Ham

West Ham have confirmed wantaway striker Marko Arnautovic has completed a move to Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side reached a £22.5m agreement with Shanghai SIPG on late last week after deciding to sell Arnautovic at all costs.

The Austria international has been angling for a move away from West Ham for the last six months and has finally got his wish.

West Ham ended up running out of patience with Arnautovic and it got to the point where both players and coaching staff wanted him gone this summer.

The Hammers turned down a £40m bid for Arnautovic in January and have reluctantly accepted a loss on their £25m signing this summer.

Arnautovic has spent the last two seasons at West Ham and reached double figures for goals in each campaign.

Arnautovic played a direct hand in more league goals than any other West Ham player during that time (32).

West Ham are working hard to sign Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez as his replacement but face stiff competition from Valencia, who can offer Champions League football.

Pellegrini’s side have also been linked with a move for West Brom striker Salomon Rondon after Newcastle opted against making his move permanent.

Rondon impressed at Newcastle last season and will be allowed to leave West Brom if the right offer comes in for the soon-to-be 30-year-old.
