Manchester United to make Mourinho highest-paid manager in the world

Manchester United are prepared to make Jose Mourinho the highest-paid manager in the world by offering him a new five-year deal worth £65m, claims The Sun.

The Red Devils have equalled their best start to a Premier League campaign after winning six of their opening seven matches and United are ready to reward Mourinho with a long-term contract.

United have been searching for stability since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 and believe Mourinho is the man to take the club forward in the foreseeable future.

Despite the fact Mourinho has notoriously encountered problems at clubs he has managed in his third season, United are prepared to reward the 54-year-old with a contract that would make this the longest tenure of his career.

Mourinho won the Europa League and League Cup in his first season in charge of United and is now well positioned to take the club back to the summit of English football with swashbuckling football that has been missing at Old Trafford since Ferguson’s era.

In fact, United have scored at least four goals in six of their opening 10 matches this season, which is even more incredible when you consider they only managed to score 4+ goals in a single game on 15 occasions in the previous four seasons combined.
