Arsenal beat Everton to signature of Bundesliga star

Arsenal have beaten Premier League rivals to the signature of Bundesliga ace Sead Kolasinac after agreeing personal terms with the Schalke left-back, reports The Guardian.

Kolasinac, 23, is out of contract at the end of the season and has been free to speak with foreign clubs at the start of 2017 having been heavily linked with moves to Juventus and AC Milan already this year.

Everton had been in talks with the Bosnia international about a switch to Goodison Park at the end of the season but Arsenal have swooped in, much like they did with the signing of Lucas Perez last summer, and wrapped up a deal to secure his services when his contract expires in the summer.

It’s a shrewd move from Arsene Wenger, who would have identified left-back as a area of concern following Nacho Monreal’s decline this season.

The Spaniard will be 32 midway through next season and has been regularly linked with a move to Athletic Club this season, which may now materialise following Kolasinac’s impending arrival.

Kolasinac is the highest rated Schalke player in the Bundesliga this season (7.48), having scored or assisted eight goals. Predominately a left-back, the Bosnian has spent most of the season playing as a left wing-back.
