Derby County have announced they have suspended manager Nigel Pearson for tonight’s match against Cardiff.
First-team duties have been placed in the hands of assistant manager Chris Powell for their away match against Cardiff. Derby insist there will be no further comment at this time.
Pearson was appointed Derby manager over the summer but has only managed one win in their opening nine matches to leave them in the bottom three on six points.
