Paris Saint-Germain make Premier League manager their top summer target
Paris Saint-Germain want to replace Unai Emery with Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino at the end of the season, claims talkSPORT.
Emery is expected to be sacked in the summer after PSG were eliminated from the Champions League last 16 by holders Real Madrid on Tuesday.
PSG made Neymar and Kylian Mbappe the two most expensive players of all-time in the summer in their attempts to finally win the Champions League.
Defeats home and away to Madrid mean PSG have now been eliminated in the round of 16 stage in both of Emery’s campaigns in charge of the French club.
PSG were heavily linked with moves for Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho earlier in the season but the latter has since signed a contract extension with Manchester United.
Conte is on course to leave Chelsea at the end of the season and would likely be the easier manager to obtain but their preferred choice is reportedly Pochettino.
The 46-year-old spent two years at PSG towards the end of his playing career but is now more well-known as one of the most exciting young managers on the continent.
Pochettino has made Tottenham one of the best clubs in the Premier League and PSG now want the Argentine to return to the Parc des Princes.
However, with Tottenham due to move into their new stadium next season, it’s unlikely they will be successful in their attempts to prise him away.
In the last three Premier League campaigns, only Manchester City (230) have won more points than Tottenham (214).
