Barcelona turn attentions to Ajax striker Tadic

Barcelona are now weighing up a late move to sign Ajax striker Dusan Tadic, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.

Talks between Barcelona and Valencia have collapsed over a transfer for Rodrigo Moreno and now the Spanish giants are looking at alternative signings.

Barcelona are desperate to sign a new striker before Friday's deadline with Luis Suarez out for three months.

Barcelona were planning to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting and loan him straight to Valencia in order to get Rodrigo in exchange.

However, Fernandes is now on his way to England to sign for Manchester United and Barcelona cannot afford to pay Rodrigo's €60m release clause.

Barcelona are now exploring the possibility of prising Tadic away from Ajax despite the fact the Serbia international signed a new long-term deal in the summer.

Tadic has been a revelation for Ajax since signing from Southampton in 2018, transforming into one of the best players in Europe.

The 31-year-old played a direct hand in 10 goals in 12 appearances in last season's Champions League campaign to inspire Ajax to the last four.

In the Eredivisie, Tadic has played a direct hand in at least 16 more goals than any other player since the beginning of last season (63).
