Inter have announced they have signed Cristian Ansaldi from Genoa with Diego Laxalt completing a permanent switch in the other direction.
Ansaldi, 29, can play at the heart of the defence and out wide on the right and his versatility could prove key under Roberto Mancini next season.
The Argentine spent last season on loan with Genoa from Zenit St. Petersburg and was only officially signed by the Serie A side on Friday after they missed the original deadline proposed by Zenit.
However, Ansaldi had already agreed a contract with Inter earlier in the summer and represented them in a friendly at the start of the month.
Ansaldi was named in the WhoScored Serie A Team of the Season last term after gaining a rating of 7.33.
