Real Madrid and PSG in talks over Neymar transfer

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have held talks over a sensational move for former Barcelona winger Neymar, claims AS.

PSG are looking to sell Neymar just two years after making the Brazil international the most expensive player of all-time.

The Ligue 1 champions are only interested in keeping players committed to their project and they believe Neymar has become a disrupted influence.

Neymar has been heavily linked with a return to Spain ever since joining PSG and Barcelona were keen on re-signing the 27-year-old this summer.

Barcelona first need to sell some deadwood in order to make room for Neymar, which has opened the door for Madrid to make a dramatic move.

PSG sporting director Leonardo has confirmed talks are underway about Neymar’s exit and the Brazilian will not feature in their first league game of the season this weekend.

Madrid are chasing a marquee signature after missing out on Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Their pursuit of Neymar, however, has raised eyebrows after signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea earlier in the summer.

Neymar has failed to complete a full season with PSG after suffering serious ankle injuries in both seasons.

Despite a lack of regular playing time, Neymar has generally been world class when PSG have managed to get him on the pitch.

In fact, the PSG No.10 has played a direct hand in 54 goals in 37 league appearances since joining from Barcelona.
