Sturridge fears Liverpool could ruin January move away
Daniel Sturridge is keen to join Southampton next month but fears Liverpool could price him out of a move, reports The Daily Mirror.
Liverpool are willing to let Sturridge find regular first team football elsewhere next month but will not sell him on the cheap.
Southampton have earmarked the 28-year-old as a top January target as they look to add goals to their squad but want to strike a loan deal with Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Liverpool, who signed Virgil van Dijk from Southampton for £75m earlier this week, have no interest in loaning Sturridge out and have slapped a £25m price tag on his head.
No team will likely shell out that much money who has struggled to stay fit for prolonged periods in the last few years and Sturridge fears Liverpool’s stance will ruin his 2018 World Cup dream.
Sturridge has only made nine Premier League appearances this season, with only five of those coming as a starter. He has scored two goals and registered one assist in that time.
£25m is a figure made up by Sturridge's agents. Who in their right mind wants to pay that for a useless, lazy, malingering bum who can't score without Suarez? Instead of working hard on the pitch, he'd rather act stupid on social media and promote products for his own benefit (while "out injured"). His agents are even going on Reddit, using bots to downvote comments that doesn't reflect nicely about his poor attitude.
