Real Madrid and Barcelona lead Manchester United in race for European sensation
Manchester United are at serious risk of losing Benfica wonderkid Joao Felix to one of Spain’s biggest clubs, claims The Daily Mirror.
Felix has emerged as one of the most sought after talents in Europe this season and was reportedly subject of a January bid from Liverpool.
United have scouted the 19-year-old on a number of occasions this season but the Red Devils are behind Real Madrid and Barcelona in the race for his signature.
Benfica are aware of the interest in Felix from their European rivals and are hoping a bidding war will push his price tag up to the £100m mark at the end of the season.
Felix has developed into one of the first names on the team sheet this year and has even demoted veteran striker Jonas to the bench.
The Portuguese teen has scored or assisted 10 goals in 13 league appearances this season at a rate of every 64.4 minutes of plating time.
