Tottenham are set to hand Harry Kane with a bumper new contract to make him the highest paid player in the club’s history, according to The Daily Mail.
Kane is only just over a year into the five-and-a-half-year deal he signed last February but the England international has been in sensational form for Spurs this season in a incredible campaign that has seen them fall just short of landing a shock Premier League title.
Tottenham are set to double Kane’s £50,000-a-week wages, which will smash the £80,000-a-week ceiling they currently operate at as a reward for his match winning performances over the last two years.
The 22-year-old isn’t expected to sign his new deal until after the European Championships in the summer, with both parties relaxed about the current situation. The news will sounds as a blow to the likes of Manchester United who have previously been heavily linked with a move for the Tottenham ace.
Since the start of last season only Sergio Aguero (49) has scored more goals in the Premier League than Kane (46).
