Sevilla have announced Vitolo has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal keeping him at the club until 2020.
Vitolo, 26, has been heavily linked with a move to Atletico Madrid this summer and Diego Simeone had reportedly personally tried to convince the versatile forward to make the switch.
However, any talk of a potential exit has now been quashed after Vitolo committed his long-term future to Sevilla in which his release clause has reportedly increased from €25m (£21.7m) to €35m (£30.3m).
“I’ll carry on growing as a person and as a footballer here, because everything that makes me and my family happy is in Seville,” Vitolo told Sevilla’s official website, via AS.
“This great city, this great team and this great family make us feel that the place for us is right here.”
Vitolo has only scored more than five goals once in the last three league campaigns.
