Bayern Munich play down chances of signing Sane from Manchester City
Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness has conceded the Bundesliga outfit will likely be priced out of a move for Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.
The German champions have reportedly had a £70m bid rejected for Sane, who has entered the final two years of his current City deal.
Pep Guardiola’s side want to secure Sane’s long-term future but have not made a breakthrough in talks over the last 12 months.
The Germany international dropped down the pecking order at City last season, which raised Bayern’s hopes of signing the 23-year-old.
Bayern want to sign two wingers this summer to replace Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery but Hoeness has conceded their chances of signing Sane are not looking good.
“It is unlikely that it will work,” he told German outlet Kicker. “It’s about amounts, which are insane.”
Despite falling out of favour last season, Sane is the only player to register double figures for goals and assists in each of the last two Premier League campaigns.
