The agent of Axel Witsel says the Belgium international wants to join AC Milan but the Serie A outfit will need to increase their offer to meet Zenit St. Petersburg's €30m valuation.
Witsel, 26, had rebuffed Milan’s approaches earlier in the summer, but is now pushing for the move.
The Italian giants are reportedly willing to shell out €20m for the central midfielder, but will need to stump up at least another €10m if they are to land the Belgian star.
“At the start Axel was not convinced by Milan’s proposal, because he was looking for a club that played in the Champions League,” Witsel’s agent Riccardo Napolitano told Antenna 3 television.
“However, the Rossoneri were very insistent and at the end the player said yes to their offer."
The Belgium international finished the season as the most accurate passer in the Russian Premier League with a pass completion of 88.9% and weighed in with four goals on course to Zenit’s first league title in three years.
