Aston Villa have announced they have signed Bristol City striker Jonathan Kodjia on a four-year contract.
Kodjia, 26, has reportedly joined in a record-breaking £15m deal, surpassing the previous record done between two Championship clubs when Villa signed Ross McCormack from Fulham earlier in the summer.
The Ivory Coast international completed his medical at Bodymoor Heath and Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo has high hopes for the striker.
“We are really pleased to have secured the services of Jonathan,” Di Matteo told Villa’s official website.
“He is a proven goalscorer and hopefully he’ll play an important part in what we hope will be a successful season for the club.”
Kodjia scored 19 goals in the Championship last season but has failed to score in four appearances for Bristol City this season prior to joining Villa.
