Pochettino open to return of former Tottenham favourite
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he is open to the idea of Gareth Bale making a sensational return to the north London side.
Bale left for Real Madrid in 2013 for £86m, then a world record transfer fee, but has been linked with a Bernabeu exit at the end of the season.
Injuries have restricted Bale to just four league starts this season, during which he has scored two goals and registered one assist.
However, numerous reports suggest the 28-year-old will be made available for transfer at the end of the campaign as Los Blancos look to free up funds to invest elsewhere.
Manchester United have a long standing interest in the Wales international and they too could look to invest in the attacker should he be made available.
Pochettino, though, has revealed Bale keeps in touch with people associated with the club as speculation linking him with a return to England intensifies.
“Of course he’s a fantastic player. He keeps contact with all the people here that worked here in the past,” Pochettino is quoted as saying by the Daily Express when quizzed on Bale.
