Liverpool have Coutinho replacement lined up in Bundesliga star

Although they are still hoping to keep hold of Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool have identified Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic as their top target should the Brazilian leave, The Mirror reports.

The 18-year-old has been on Jurgen Klopp’s radar for some time now, though the teenager would command a hefty fee, which the Reds would be willing to pay should they receive their asking price for Barca target Coutinho.

The United States international played a significant role for Die Schwarzgelben last season given his tender years and is extremely well regarded at the club, and therefore not a player they are looking to cash in on.

Nevertheless, if the Reds were to come in with a big offer then it’s one Dortmund may yet consider as a means of strengthening elsewhere.

Pulisic started 15 of 29 league appearances last season, registering the most assists of any current teenager in Europe’s top 5 leagues (6), whilst also gaining valuable Champions League experience.

Capable of playing behind the striker or from either flank, the youngster would be a huge asset to Klopp should Liverpool be forced into selling their own prized asset.
