City midfielder to leave in the summer

Yaya Toure’s agent has revealed the midfielder will ‘definitely’ leave Manchester City at the end of the season after failing to agree terms on a new deal, according to FC Inter News, via Manchester Evening News.

The 32-year-old has been heavily linked with a City exit since Pep Guardiola was confirmed as Manuel Pellegrini’s replacement at the start of February.

Guardiola was responsible for ending Toure’s Barcelona career that resulted in a move to City in 2010 and the same is expected to happen at City in the summer, which his agent has confirmed will happen.

“He’ll definitely leave Manchester City, I can calmly confirm that,” Dimitri Seluk told FC Inter News. “Various offers have arrived for Yaya and we’re evaluating them, but no decision has been take yet for next season.

“Will the economic aspect make the difference? Absolutely not. We don’t put money before everything, but the project the club presents us. The best will convince us.”

Toure’s output has dropped considerably since he peaked in the 2013/14 campaign, where he directly contributed to 29 league goals (20 goals, nine assists) in 35 matches. In fact, he has only played a hand in 22 goals in his resulting 55 league matches (16 goals, 6 assists).
