Both of these teams have already started their season as they have played in the UWCL qualifying so they will be likely to hit the ground running.
City have also likely made the transfer of the window as they brought Vivianne Miedema from Arsenal and weakened them.
Arsenal have won each of the last three meetings with City and they also managed to do the double over them last season.
However, City are in impervious form on the opening day as they have lost just one of the nine opening games. The one loss came from an opening match against Aston Villa in 2022/23 with the result finishing as 4-3.
Arsenal have their own secret weapon in Beth Mead. She has a stellar record on the opening weekend as she is the leading goalscorer for it, having scored seven.
