Team News

Sporting
Porto
  • St. Juste, Nel and Diogo Pinto remain injured and won't feature at Sunday' Clássico.
  • Nuno Santos made an impact coming from the bench last time around and might replace Geny Catamo at left wing back.
  • Hjulmand is fully recovered and could bring fresh legs to Sporting' midfield.
  • Long-term absentees Zaidu and Marcano remain injured and are out of action for Saturday' big game.
  • Fábio Vieira and Nehuen Pérez were signed in midweek but aren't expected to feature yet.
  • Fran Navarro could play up front if Vítor Bruno opts for a pure striker.

Prediction

  • Sporting kept up their goalscoring form in the last round, beating Farense 5-0 a week after crushing Nacional 6-1. Gyokeres, Pote and Trincão have combined perfectly and are a threat to any defence.
  • FC Porto seem to have improved a lot with the arrival of Vítor Bruno as head coach and have been playing at a high level. So far they've picked up three convincing wins in the three games they've played, managing to settle the games in the first half.
  • Both teams have already met this season, with FC Porto pulling off an epic 4-3 win after trailing 3-0 to secure the Super Cup. With that in mind, you can expect them to be confident of repeating the feat. Still, playing in Alvalade could help Sporting, who could come out on top this time.
