Team News

Netherlands
England
  • Ronald Koeman again has his entire squad available for selection here, with no players injured or suspended.
  • The Dutch boss could continue with an unchanged starting XI for the second straight game, though it would come as no shock if he is tempted to hand a start to Wout Weghorst.
  • Marc Guehi served his one-match suspension during Saturday's quarter-final, and despite Ezri Konsa's strong display, should come straight back into the starting XI here.

Prediction

  • After falling behind in the first half, the Netherlands fought back to seal a comeback win over Turkiye in Berlin on Saturday evening.
  • In doing so, the Oranje qualified for a first semi-final at a major international tournament since the 2014 World Cup.
  • For England, on the other hand, it all came down to five perfect penalties in a dramatic shootout victory against Switzerland.
  • The Three Lions had trailed after Breel Embolo put the Swiss ahead on 75 minutes, but Bukayo Saka equalised in fine fashion just five minutes later to bring about extra time.
  • Gareth Southgate's side have now reached the semi-finals, at least, at three of the four major tournaments he has managed.
  • With little to split these two sides, expect extra time - or penalties - to decide this one.

  • Simons avoided a red card last game, there were literally compilations of yellow cards which they didn't get. But hey, let's cry because it's England. Spain will get the cup anyway, doesn't matter who won here.

  • One should get compensation for watching England games. It's so gruesome to witness it hurts mentally ...

  • @neumi17 That's why I can only watch them while at "work". It's a decent distraction, and to be fair this has probably been their best performance so far at Euros.

  • How that is a penalty, I have no idea

  • @sarigginsUSA I guess dude's leg was so beefy it hurt Kane's foot. Makes you really wonder what's going on in that VAR room. Does the ref just do what he's told or is he the authority on the pitch?

  • i love Watkins answer to ITV and then to BEINsport channels “I swear on my life that I said to Cole Palmer that he’s going to set me up today and I’m going to score" this is a message to Southgate that all pundits, writers, fans are right,. He should give Palmer, ezzy and watkins enouph times to change the game. Always the quality of the players cover his dumb a s s.

  • Freaking hell, how lucky can you be England ? EVERY game they somehow escape in the last second. Ridiculous that they made it to the final with that style of play.

  • @neumi17 Now try to imagine how this game would have turned out if the ref said "No penalty" and told Kane to bugger off. In knockout games with such close margins (most have won by only 1 goal) penalties are simply too punitive to be tossed around like candy. If it isn't a serious foul or an obvious mistake I just don't want to hear about it.

  • @tkr thank you. Probably the reason the rule is hard to change because deciding a "serious foul" is more subjective than just any foul in the box. But completely agree. Beyond being too punitive, pens are too soft and still inconsistently given. With a stricter penalty rule there would be far less diving as well, it's embarrassing to watch really.

  • @tkr It would have been a draw in regular time and England would have won it in extra time. The Netherlands suck, they shouldn't even have made it this far.

  • @tkr o one appealed for a penalty cry more

  • England DNB @ 1.75 Odds

  • @Marbella If the game is a draw then stake is refunded.

  • The referee for this game is Felix Zwayer who served a 6 month ban for his involvement with match-fixing in 2005.

  • @Marbella Nice! Why isn't he in jail then? Perhaps because the owners of the teams endorsed his activity!

  • @Zoltan Because no one gets a 20year sentence for match fixing.

  • @stuckonautomatic they should be! because they are corrupt in an authority position!

  • @Marbella The ref and Jude Bellingham have 'bad history'.

  • @Marbella Bellingham got booked.

  • The actual MOTM is Cole Palmer.

  • @Sputnik no

  • @leedsunitedfc Yes.

  • Gareth Southgate never learnt from his mistakes. No Luke Shaw, Alexander-Arnold and Cole Palmer are going to kill him. He will be sacked at the end of this game.

  • @Leokh and now?

  • Netherlands to qualify

  • @MickeyClark On what grounds? The only good game they played in this championship was against France in the group stage.

  • @MickeyClark nope

  • 1-2

  • 0-1 or 1-2

  • England have drawn 5 of their last 6 matches.Netherlands have drawn 1 of their last 4 matches.

  • @Marbella What is your opinion regarding the referee and the results of the two teams so far? Thank you for your answer. I want to bet. I need money. Both teams will score. Is it a good option? In ninety minutes of the game

  • @Beh All teams start out to play 0-0, safety first. So, if they are really incompetent (which they are), neither of the teams will be able to find a goal by accident. Thus, the other team won't force the issue either. So, a 0-0 is also entirely possible!

  • 3:1 for Oranje

  • @djdefender Next joke, please!

  • @djdefender lol...

  • there is so much to say i might need several paragraphs but luckily this comes few days late. i couldnt watch this match with a clear mind and missed the pen, but i have to say england are severely underrated. i understand this was their best match so far. to be fair to NL, if we consider the pen soft then they can feel quite hard done by by the refereeing; aside from the pen at some point all 50/50s seemed to go englands way, ref missed a NL corner etc etc. still, england deserved to win this match. more and better chances created. NL only really had a few half-chances, as a whole they struggled against the proactive and tight england defense. and when the NL struggles to outplay with ground passing plays, you know what's coming: spamming crosses. even then they lacked quality, not just the crosses but weghorst was so slow when he could've easily got to some balls. generally NL overcomplicated too much and spammed crosses when there were easier and more effective options.

  • @Icarax it was a difference in quality as well really. on the attack some england players showed 1v1 skills and as a result created some better chances. england were able to tactically change the run of the play towards the end to score before FT, this convinced me southgate is underrated and far better tactically than people like to admit (beyond the fact that he's had great results with a team that used to struggle to make QFs). i think englands biggest weakness going forward is simply if they can find collective plays and not let matches go to penalties. both englands penalties and their reliance on 1v1 prowess sometimes are too volatile for my liking. still, they have collective quality in offense, and when you pair that with the one in defense, i wouldn't bet against them.

  • Over 2.5 goals, over 0.5 Woodwork hits & over 0.5 Videoreviewes How did i lose this?

  • Why "shot on" is 2:2 instead of 3:3. Is goal moment "shot on" or not?

  • No Tackles tracked the last 17 min ?????

  • where are the goalkeeper stats

  • @roarsza 2 - 2 saves

  • Beauty goal from Ollie Watkins, really creative. I like England this time they played much better than against Switzerland. Don't believe it'd be enough against Sapin though.

  • Braw

  • Just think about it: extra time is not really good for any teams (they are all exhausted), but they are really good for television advertising! Extra time is not even good for the better teams and yet all teams settle for draws and then penalties. If this is not fishy, then I don't know what is! P.S. Just look at Uruguay's Marcelo Bielsa for example: he did not even give one minute of playing time for all time scoring leaders Suarez, while Nunez is in terrible goal scoring form - he needs 6 or 7 occasions to score a goal or give an assist. At the very least I would play both of them upfront. Like they used to play Suarez and Cavani upfront. This sorry loser Nunez has no clue about scoring whatsoever. That's why never hire an Argentine coach either because they are always way too defensive!

  • If I am not mistaken, on the right side(as a winger) will play Malen

  • Kane +200 / Jude +440 To Score Anytime

  • England to qualify

  • The Netherlands gonna win.. 2-1 / 3-2

  • 2/1

  • England to get the only goal at the last 2nd part of the 15 minutes extra time. Bellingham to score the winner.

  • 1-1 or 2-2 in 90min England to win in extra time or pens

  • @FF2021 why not 0-0 ???

  • @Zoltan it won't be 0-0. The Dutch defence has been suspect all tournament.

  • @leedsunitedfc Really! I thought the England offence has been suspect all tournament as well! LOL

  • @Zoltan well well well

  • @leedsunitedfc The whole Dutch team has been suspect all tournament.

  • @Sputnik Really! I thought the entire English team has been suspect all tournament as well! LOL
