Team News

Spain
Germany
  • Spain will be expected to continue with their settled, first-choice XI here.
  • Nico Schlotterbeck could keep his starting place here over Jonathan Tah, after an impressive performance against Denmark.
  • Florian Wirtz could come back into the XI after Leroy Sane failed to impress on Saturday evening.

Prediction

  • Spain were dealt a scare but came from behind to put four past a resilient Georgia on Sunday evening.
  • Luis de la Fuente's side remain the only team with a 100% record at this summer's European Championship.
  • Germany, meanwhile, eventually came past Denmark in Dortmund on Saturday.
  • Goals from Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala sealed the hosts' place in the quarter-finals, setting up a clash between arguably the two best-performing teams so far.
  • This one could really go either way, and perhaps be decided in extra time.

  • Spain or Real. It's always the same with the refs.

  • @stuckonautomatic it seems your pooper are very sore, have you tried treating your butt pains with cream=

  • @stuckonautomatic NO

  • Very, very unlucky loss for Germany ! First they didn't get a clear penalty, waste a ton of chances and than Rüdiger doesn't do the only thing he is good at, mark his man. I mean it's the 119th minute and he just let's his man jump to get a header on goal.

  • @neumi17 cry-me-a-river

  • @Socio4Life Yes I am. I think there is such thing as a good and a poor winner. And a good winner knows when he got lucky and respects the opponent.

  • The Germans are crying :)

  • @Marbella nope

  • @Marbella Nacho is, because he was fouled so hard

  • @Marbella germany will always be on top, humilated your team in the past crybaby

  • @Encara You should try history channel since you preferr to live in the past

  • @Encara Tell me more, HISTORY CHANNEL!

  • 100% cucurella hand. Fu referee

  • @wawa Fu you 2

  • Spain 2-1

  • No penalty is a joke. The better team lose. Its just sport.

  • @wawa GFYS, loser!

  • @Sputnik It's quite obvious who the loser is here. Your reaction is ridiculous.

  • @neumi17 Germans do not have any moral right to protest against referee decisions after VAR won them the game against Denmark. They should've lost against Switzerland, gone to the easy path and they might have reached the final. Idiot team with an idiot coach. Spain was better in every aspect of the game. Your argument is invalid, now go cry some more!

  • @Sputnik every aspect? have you looked at the stats? Spain had won almost won none of the statistics, except for Clearances, Blocked Shots and Balls recovered because they were under constant pressure!

  • This match is too difficult to predict, a draw might be the best outcome.

  • That ref is planning on retiring in Spain.

  • @Chancho Cry some more!

  • BTTS is the best option here

  • jsut no, no justice in this match

  • Hand from cucurella 100% penalty but the mafia referee dont see it and no videoreferee lol

  • @wawa do you need some cheese to go with all that wine?

  • @Socio4Life 44 years old yet so much small-dick-virgin-loser-energy across your pathetic comments in this thread

  • Carvajal Nd nacho such unsportmenship

  • Germany: Why no Stegen and Wirtz? Stupid Coach, I won't be surprised it will be lost or draw to Germany 90 mins.

  • @Leokh ter Stegen, are you serious ?

  • Spain DNB @ 1.85 Odds

  • 0-0 90min

  • Only thing that troubles me is the inconsistency of penalty calls. This ref played spirit of the game, that Cucurella honestly played the ball and tried to keep the arms to his side, meaning that the handball was completely unintentional, but in other games they give penalties for any kind of handball no questions asked. FIFA will be pressured to clarify the rules on this. I just hope they don't decide on a literal textbook handball = penalty 100% the time because then we will start to see forwards aiming at somebody's arm instead of at the goal.

  • @tkr Cucurella tried to keep his RIGHT arm to his side, but not the left arm plus it was a dangerous shot on goal.

  • I'm glad this ref refused to give anybody a penalty. He took zero BS, probably told VAR to screw off, and allowed the better team to win by playing football. It's disappointing for any neutral to see such a good game be decided by a controversial penalty.

  • @tkr nope, he had no balls to "decide" this game with a penalty. He even refused to look at this situation again in SloMo.

  • @tkr Did the better team win ?

  • Kroos committed 4 fouls worthy of a yellow, but was given only one. He took off Pedri, but Olmo replaced him and became MOTM. That's called poetic justice.

  • @agunchev - Kroos is an animal. The entire German team was violent and acting like a bunch of thugs. Cowards.

  • @Jnanavatar555 It's called football, not ballet.

  • @benchmark04 it is called football, not redneck tavern brawls

  • @Socio4Life Which is usually the style of the Spanish players.

  • @agunchev 1 yellow Card is not equal to a MotM, and not equal to a not given penalty.

  • The betting Maffia controls world football well. I am not saying that the players are in bed with the organisers - it is just that all the stupid, unnecessary competition schedule are so crammed that the players don't give a damn any more: they are physically unable to cope with all the running necessary throughout the year. Bad coaches, stupid team selection, and old boys pacing of the games are rendering useless a once noble competition. Watching these games is actually painful, so bad is the quality of football on all games. And the funny thing is that all those consumer idiots in the stadium don't even take notice!

  • @Zoltan this comment should be made under England's games.

  • @Zoltan you the same idiot as usual. what the actual F is wrong with you

  • why the most of you says that its difficult to predict? its obvious that this match will end 1:1 and will go through to extra time

  • It’s obviously a German win. Germany by 2 goals

  • @carterfwesh HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Spain will be red carded early. Germany all the way

  • @buthethi purely opposite

  • @buthethi Nah, they usually have the slight ref edge, like Real.

  • Luis de la fuente said 'my players are the best in the world' :)

  • X and Spain will qualify.

  • @Finucci Szép munka! Mennyivel raktad meg?

  • 1-1 germany qualify

  • 1-2

  • wouldve been an instant classic if not for some of the refereeing. i was very impressed with some of the spain passing plays, just straight outplays consistently rather than germany making mistakes (aside from poor marking on the goals). despite this i do think spain has some vulnerabilities on defense, specifically they seem a bit complacent sometimes in blocking passes/crosses. this is how wirtz goal came as well. spain rely on having an obscene amount of players back defending, which is great, but when you wait for opponents' actions to then react and defend, sometimes their cross will be that good that numbers cant make up for it. add to this the counterattacking prowess of france, that spain wont have the numbers to cover, plus the fact that the best and least naive defender (carvajal) is out, im not putting my money on spain going forward despite the great plays from midfield up.

  • @Icarax I agree with everything, except one thing - Spain will not be playing against France.

  • FairPlay Award for Spain

  • Considering the keepers' great performance in the first half, this will be a 0-0 game.

  • @Zoltan Olmo says hi

  • Spain 3:2 / 3:1

  • GERMANY Neuer, Kimmich, Rudiger, Tah, Raum, Can, Kroos, Sane, Gundogan, Musiala, Havertz.

  • SPAIN Simon, Carvajal, Le Normand, Laporte, Cucurella, Gonzalez, Rodri, Fabian, Yamal, Morata, Williams.

  • Germany have not beat Spain in 36 years, will it be today?

  • @KingKeno In a major Tourney that is

  • @KingKeno That's just 3 games in major tournaments (2008,2010,2022).

  • Spain is the better team with the better football but you never know. Germany plays better if the opponent also wants to attack, so it's hard to predict.

  • 4:2 This is a final of ME

  • Spain to qualify
